Personnel Health Technician

We have an exciting opportunity for a Personnel Health Technician to join our client in Gourock.
 
The Personnel Health Technician will be responsible for primarily providing and administering Health Surveillance screening.
 
THE SUCCESSFUL APPLICANT
  • Self-starter who can prioritise tasks and deliver results without constant supervision.
  • Healthcare background - preferred.
  • Qualified to administer audiometry testing to HSE standard.
  • Qualified to assess Hand Arm Vibration symptoms in workers to HSE standard.
  • Qualified mental health first aider
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • The ability to multitask and prioritise.
  • Excellent organisational, planning and administration skills.
  • Ability in dealing with staff at all levels both internally and externally.
  • A good working knowledge of Microsoft Office packages including Word, Excel and proprietary healthcare software.
  • Driving licence essential for network travel.
  • Ability to work alone and prepared to travel.
  • Attention to detail.
 
JOB DESCRIPTION
  • Audiometry testing.
  • Whole body vibration testing.
  • Hand arm vibration testing.
  • General health surveillance - night workers.
  • General health surveillance – other workers.
  • Produce and maintain a schedule for all Health Surveillance testing activities.
  • Produce statistics and management information when required.
  • Liaise with vessels, dry docks and employees, other departments as necessary to facilitate the testing programme.
  • Ensure all equipment required is maintained in accordance with manufacturer instructions and sector guidance.
  • Follow up any Health Surveillance referrals with employees and, where necessary, Occupational Health providers.
  • Maintain electronic records daily.
  • Produce certificates and store electronically.
  • Manage other organisational health checks, as necessary, e.g. annual flu vaccinations or specific testing for employees in any public health emergency.
  • Assist the Crewing Department with general administrative support.
  • Any other duties as reasonably required by Head of Crewing.

  • Anticipate, meet, and exceed the needs of internal customers.
  • Promote the company’s health surveillance offering to all applicable staff and stakeholders. 
 
General Management:
 
  • To support continual Improvement processes and improve the processes and procedures for health surveillance. 
 
REMUNERATION PACKAGE ON OFFER 
 
Salary: £33,648.00 per annum.
Benefits (including 37 days annual leave (pro-rata), staff travel pass and an industry leading pension).
