THE SUCCESSFUL APPLICANT
Essential:

Minimum 3-5 years of experience in document control, preferably in a shipyard or manufacturing environment.

Strong understanding of document control principles and best practices.

Proficiency in document management systems (DMS) or similar software.
Preferred:

Knowledge of shipbuilding practices and terminology.

Experience with project management methodologies.

Understanding of relevant quality management standards (e.g., ISO 9001).
JOB DESCRIPTION

Lead and manage a team of document controllers: Provide training and guidance to ensure team members understand and adhere to document control procedures.

Delegate tasks and monitor performance.

Address any issues or challenges faced by the team.

Develop and implement document control procedures:

Establish a system for receiving, registering, classifying, and distributing documents.

Ensure compliance with industry standards and company policies for document control.

Develop and maintain a document management system (DMS) or utilise existing systems effectively.

Manage document revisions and approvals:

Implement a system for tracking document revisions and ensuring only the latest approved version is used.

Facilitate the approval process for new and revised documents.
-
Maintain an audit trail of all document revisions.

Liaise with various departments:

Work closely with engineering, design, planning, procurement, and other departments to ensure proper document flow and access.

Respond promptly to inquiries from internal and external stakeholders regarding documents.

Maintain accurate and up-to-date document registers:

Track all documents within the project, including their status, location, and revision history.

Identify and implement improvements to document control processes: o Continuously analyse the document control system and identify opportunities for improvement.

Implement new technologies and best practices to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
