Liaison Engineer

Based in Inverclyde, our shipbuilding client requires a Liaison Engineer to join them on a permanent basis.
 
THE SUCCESSFUL APPLICANT
  • Experience in AutoCAD and MS Office
  • Capable of reading drawings
  • Production experience – highly desirable
  • Drawing office / design experience – highly desirable
  • Strong collaborator with exceptional stakeholder management skills.

  • Self-starter, able to set priorities appropriately and work to deadlines
 
JOB DESCRIPTION
  • Day today point of contact for production staff
  • Attend production plan of the day meetings
  • Respond to questions raised by the production team, either to directly solve the problem or to capture it in a TQ form in sufficient detail to allow another member of the engineering team to resolve it
  • Engage with planning to schedule open TQs to be worked on by the engineering team
  • Follow up on TQs raised directly by production to ensure the problem is correctly understood and the right person is engaged to solve it
  • Record TQs and maintain the TQ register, tracking TQs to closure, keep production up to date with progress on solving problems
  • Inform the rest of the engineering team of opportunities to improve in future, support implementation of lessons learned
