We have an exciting opportunity for an Operational Technology Manager to join our client in Gourock.
The Operational Technology Manager will be responsible for overseeing the management and implementation of diverse Operational Technology and Cyber Security measures specifically for vessel maintenance and operations. As an Operational Technology Manager your impact will be significant as you lead the charge in leveraging state-of-the-art technology to enhance the analysis of material conditions and operational profiles of our client’s fleet.
THE SUCCESSFUL APPLICANT

Experience within maritime or similar industry, capable of exercising sound judgement in both proactive and reactive condition analytic techniques.

Proficient in Operational Technology or Cyber Security management. Marine Operational Technology or experience that includes security for Industrial Automation and Control Systems (desirable) but any relevant cyber security discipline will be considered.

Proficient in data analysis applications and security risk assessment and management.

Be able to demonstrate experience of Project Management & Implementation and an awareness of change management. Showing experience in planning, resource management and reporting.

Be able to demonstrate strong budget management experience with the ability to employ cost control techniques.

Ability to deal with staff and build relationships at all levels both internally and externally.

Hold a suitable Operational Technology, Industrial Automation and Control Systems Cyber Security qualification or similar. (desirable)

Experience in commercial ship operations and management. (desirable)

JOB DESCRIPTION

Lead Innovation: Develop and implement strategies to fully exploit Operational Technology for vessel engineering equipment, including utilising the latest Operational Technology to support the analysis of material condition and operational profile of vessels.

You will play a crucial role to ensure the technologies operate securely and effectively for systems such as plant machinery, RF communications, onboard sensors, navigation systems, and more.

Cyber Security Champion: Serve as the primary point of contact for all Cyber Security matters related to Operational Technology, working closely with our IT Department to safeguard our systems.

Enhance Operational Excellence: Utilise the latest OT tools and techniques to optimize the performance and reliability of our vessels.

Management of department processes should be in line with company expectations and ensuring consultation is completed with relevant process reviewers when adding, amending, deleting, and reviewing owned processes.

Responsible for management of Operational Technology team staff, including but not limited to Staff appraisals, setting objectives, personal development plans, regular 1-2-1s, team development and regular team meetings.

Operational Technology (OT) asset inventory management and network / infrastructure mapping and documentation, recording of all assets and vulnerabilities that have OT Cyber Security Risk and therefore require management. Risk Identification and Management (including development and publication of OT Policy).

OT assessment of new build and current vessels, generation of vessel Cyber Security Assessments and publication of vessel specific procedures.

Development and supervision of Access Control procedures, user authentication and associated OT Cyber Security control procedures. Password and Encryption management for all OT assets. Data security for company operational data being communicated externally through remote access or onboard systems.

Close liaison with IT to ensure onboard and shore side IT systems are managed in line with OT Cyber Security principles. Network management and control associated with OT for current and new build vessels. OT Malware and Security protection management (in consultation with IT) to ensure network security is maintained. Backup and Recovery management, ensuring all systems can be recovered in the event of an incident.

Change Control, management of any changes (including patch and system updates) that have OT Cyber Security Implications. Upgrade and new device Malware and Security protection management including hardening to ensure new devices do not introduce vulnerabilities.

Staff training.

Detection of OT Cyber Security breaches and minimisation of impact - Management of OT Cyber Security incidents. Central control and management of event logs and reports. Post incident investigations to make improvements and reduce risk of re-occurrence.

Supply chain management in conjunction with Supplier Requirements Team and Supplier Management team to ensure any supplier that interfaces with company OT systems is accredited and follows company policy and procedures.

Auditing of policy, processes and procedures in conjunction with ISM code requirements.

Stakeholder Management.
REMUNERATION PACKAGE ON OFFER
Salary £49,000 - £59,000
