Our marine specialist client, based in Teeside, who offer range of maritime services are looking for a Ship Manager (Project Manager) to join their team on a permanent basis.
THE SUCCESSFUL APPLICANT

Good working knowledge of Ship repair and or heavy engineering

Strong leader, highly organised, ability to motivate and to engage with a variety of stakeholders at all levels.

Must be able to prepare detailed variation costs and submit to attending customer representative.

Ability to evaluate sub-contractors and supplier quotations.

Must be confident to Chair Project Progress Meetings and other meetings as required.

Ability to understand and interpret technical specifications and drawings.
JOB DESCRIPTION

Manage the day-to-day activity on a Ship repair project.

Drive productivity and efficiency
-
Coordinate all production trade disciplines & subcontract supply chain to execute work specifications in a timely and efficient manner.

Optimise resourcing levels, monitor performance and outputs

Interpret a technical specification, identify when a variation to the specification arises and to price and submit costs of variations to owner’s representative for approval.

Control all subcontractor, labour, consumable, and material costs and be responsible and accountable for the project P&L

Be accountable for conducting regular inspections of work areas to identify and eliminate any hazardous conditions and practices.

Be aware of Company accreditations and ensure all works are carried out in accordance with the companies OH&S Management systems
REMUNERATION PACKAGE ON OFFER
Salary £45,000 per annum
