Reporting to the Technical Maintenance Manager this role will provide comprehensive support to oversee and manage condition assessment and monitoring – processes, analysis, contracts, reporting and assisting in decisions being made based on this data. You will seek continuous improvement opportunities in this area of activities while supporting the condition assessment team in the delivery of the related quality assurance initiatives.
THE SUCCESSFUL APPLICANT
Essential
-
Recognised proficiency in Vibration Analysis technologies i.e., BINDT Cat1/2 is essential.

Knowledge of lubrication applications, sampling and interpretation of results.

Experience within maritime or similar industry, capable of exercising sound judgement in both proactive and reactive condition analytic techniques.

Knowledge of vessel or asset surveying, including but not limited to hydraulics, electrics, oil analysis, dropped objects and ultrasonic and radar steel survey techniques.

Proven experience in all aspects of Microsoft Office applications.

Ability to deal with staff and build relationships at all levels both internally and externally.

Proven verbal and written communication skills.

Strong document, data and process management skills.

Ability to collate and report effective management information.
Desirable

Hold a suitable Engineering Degree or equivalent qualification.

3 yrs+ experience in a similar.

Highly desirable BINDT Vibration Analyst CAT II / BINDT Thermographer CAT II / BINDT Lubrication Management CAT I.

JOB DESCRIPTION
Condition Assessment
-
Management of the oil analysis and vibration monitoring condition assessment programmes. Including, but not limited to; the management of contracts, receipt and review of all reports, ensuring recommendations are enacted (work included or removed as appropriate based on the output of the analysis reports). Responsible for contractor management including RAMS delivery and scheduling of annual vessel visits as per the condition assessment programmes.

Conducting condition assessment and monitoring tasking on vessels in the fleet as instructed by the Technical Condition Assessment Manager and Technical Maintenance Manager.

Supporting the establishment of baseline enhanced condition assessment of all vessels in the fleet. Provision of reports to Fleet Management Department and Vessel Crews for review, ensuring that all issues and concerns highlighted are scoped for inclusion into the maintenance plan.

Identifying and driving improvements to the conditioning monitoring programmes and processes.

Supporting Technical Condition Assessment Manager with provision of leading, rather than reactive, data allowing the Vessel Reliability Meeting to consider & introduce improvement opportunities.

To create and manage condition monitoring dashboards in consultation with the Engineering Information Team.

Support the production of Condition Assessment Programme budgets for vessels’ investigation and analysis, and control internal and external costs in line with the agreed CAP budget.

Provision of Condition Assessment information and trends captured by planned maintenance system and Defect Management System.

Conduct condition monitoring capability on current and new vessels to maximise condition assessment efficiency.
Stakeholder Liaison
-
Liaison with relevant Chief Engineers, as required, to conduct condition assessment and ensure issues and risks are highlighted and being resolved or mitigated appropriately.

In conjunction with the Procurement Department, support the management of any condition monitoring and assessment contracts.

Responsible for contractor management including RAMS delivery and scheduling of annual vessel visits as per the condition assessment programmes.

Participation in specified Operational meetings as directed by Technical Maintenance Manager.

Work collaboratively, as directed by Technical Condition Assessment Manager, with the Fleet Management Department via dedicated meetings between the condition assessment team and technical superintendents (TS), frequency to be determined through process, in order to hand over condition assessment output and track TS progression and completion of actions. This will ensure quality of service to ferry users, and maximising fleet performance, resilience and reliability by optimising condition assessment and monitoring regimes.
