Our marine client, based in Cork, are recruiting for a Technical Superintendent. As a Technical Superintendent you will be responsible for all technical-related issues of an assigned group of vessels and will plan for port state control and vetting inspections, communicate with the Ops group on day-to-day matters, and all scheduled dry dockings.
THE SUCCESFUL APPLICANT
- Chief Engineer with experience on offshore vessels, or experienced technical superintendent in the offshore sector.
- Experience of offshore standby/supply vessels is essential.
- Some electrical experience/knowledge. (preferred)
- Experience in ship repair/ship management.
- You will have strong planning and organisational skills.
- Flexibility to travel frequently and able to work under pressure.
- Good verbal and written communication and reporting skills in English are essential.
- You must have a right to work in Ireland to be considered for this position
JOB DESCRIPTION
- Assess and report on the technical conditions and operational expenses for an assigned group of vessels in the fleet.
- Responsible for technical-related unplanned off-hires, port state control and class inspections.
- Communicate with the Operations Department on day-to-day matters in respect of voyage operations.
- Schedule and supervise planned and unplanned repairs, inspections and dry dockings.
- Responsible for the class status of the vessel and for arranging surveys.
